Issue #41 of Darkside Magazine is out now (get it here), and I can personally attest to the wonderful writing in the magazine; I had the honor of being able to interview Jari Vuoristo, CEO of virtual reality games producer at Citor3 Entertainment for the issue. I can also attest to the wonderful pictures herein and the other writing. Darkside is a smashingly kinky magazine, and you would do well to snatch one up.

As my Licking Non-Vanilla co-host, M. Christian will surely agree, a good smut writer, niche kink scribbler, sex-word-maker finds a narrow playing field in which to sell our wares. When we come across magazines like Darkside or solid online portals, or even this blog where we can expound and explore via our written word (and of course here on Skyhawk where we can speak those words on our podcast) Chris and me are tickled to have the opportunity. Unless a dirty writer gets together some books out on his or her own and puts them up on Amazon (which Chris and I have both done), really, you have to spend time making connections and slog a bit through the trenches to find somebody interested in publishing you. And sure, that slogging as much makes the measure of a writer as the writer’s writing, but I think for niche writers, the way is ever more difficult the further away from the mainstream you get.

Then again, publishing in the mainstream writing world is a bitch as well. The above-mentioned Amazon pretty much lands every single book out there on our virtual doorstep, leveling us all with a glut of stuff. And through the work he has done in acquisitions, marketing, and editing, Chris can tell you firsthand how many books that you see on bookstore shelves written by high-profile authors and published by major houses, end up returned to the publisher.

So, Chris and I are especially thrilled with magazines like Darkside, continuing to publish and with great frequency, and offering itself in such a classy way.

Again, you can find Darkside Magazine here
